Legal counsel (20h/week)

As Legal Counsel in the German Planon GmbH, you are responsible for the legal support of the specialist departments, especially the sales department. You report to the Head of Legal CE and work closely with the Managing Director and the Global Legal Director at Planon's headquarters in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.


In this role you will:

  • Independent support of complex IT contracts and partly international projects, including project contracts, license contracts, software-as-a-service contracts and order processing contracts
  • Elaboration of contract templates, especially the creation and revision of general terms and conditions, focus: IT law, data protection law and general civil law
  • Analyzing, evaluating and developing solutions for complex data protection and IT law issues in the national and international environment
  • Responsible for ensuring that the issue of data protection is taken into account at all relevant points
  • Advice and support for specialists and executives at all hierarchical levels in all legal issues
  • Development and implementation of processes and process optimization in the field of contract management
  • Design, plan and conduct legal and compliance training
  • Willingness to be constantly informed about the new regulations, laws and case law in force, as well as a proactive flow of information about the latest case law to specialists and executives
  • Supporting the Head of Legal CE with regard to general legal issues in day-to-day business
Germany Frankfurt Shared Services 3-5 years


  • Successful completion of both state examinations and admission as a lawyer (male / female), knowledge of Austrian or Swiss law is an advantage
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant professional experience as a lawyer (male / female), in a leading law firm or in a similar position as an in-house lawyer (male / female), in an international company, IT and software environment desirable
  • Proven knowledge and experience in examining, drafting and negotiating a large number of IT contracts, as well as in the area of data protection
  • You work very independently, are solution and service-oriented and have a high degree of teamwork
  • Fluent knowledge of English and, ideally, knowledge of another European language
  • Entrepreneurial thinking and high commitment
  • Assertiveness, efficiency and an interest in technology
  • Proven ability to achieve high quality results under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills in writing and orally in English and German
